"We did a follow up workshop for Salt and Spice, senior ministry of Living Hope Christian Center in Sacramento, CA. It was well attended. We used power point as well as handouts. Pastor Rodney emphasized the importance of this ministry to the mature active adults of our churches and community. He also rendered encouragement and guidance in the area of active senior adults ministry.
Evaluation of the workshop shows very positive results, from a scale of 1 to 10 (one being lowest and ten highest) the average rating by participants was 9.6. Praise the Lord! "We had fellowship with Rodney and Marian for approximately ten years at the Sacramento Calvary Temple Church. For roughly the last five years (total of 15 years), we have participated in some of their various ministries, e.g. group trips to Apple Hill, Monterey, and Carmel; ministry in various convalescent homes, and unwed mothers' facilities. Also had fellowship with bowling, miniature golf, progressive dinner, Bill Gaither concerts at Arco Arena, Sacramento Kings' House Party, backyard barbecues at the Dopheides', in-home dinners and potlucks, karoake, etc. They were usually followed up with prayer and devotions. Rodney and Marian are truly committed to the Lord with a burning desire to serve him. They always go to the extra mile, as shown by their love and grace for everyone. A couple of the many special things they have done for us was officiating at my mom's funeral - that was very special to my family, and taking me to Kaiser Emergency a couple of times at night.
